解説／

六甲山に設置するために制作したバードハウスです。中に入る鳥の居住性を考慮して段ボール紙で中空の型をつくり、その表面にセメントを塗って強固な殻をつくり、最後に耐水性の優れたモロッコ産の漆喰「タデラクト」で仕上げています。

These are bird houses, mounted on poles, and placed along the roadside in the mountains near Kobe, to welcome wild birds. They are finished in ‘tadelakt’, traditional Moroccan plaster, which has a beautiful polished surface.

The flower bud shape was created using a series of stacked hexagons, which gradually spiral. Corrugated cardboard was used for the core, since it was thought to be suitable for the birds, while also functioning as a mould for the 5mm layer of fibre-reinforced mortar which was trowelled onto its surface. The outer layer was then finished in tadelakt, ensuring the water-proofing of the bird house.
