This project involves the renovation of three traditional farmhouses in Shizuhara, Sakyo-ku, Kyoto, reconfigured into a multifunctional ensemble comprising a residence, an architectural studio, and a dyeing and weaving workshop. Located within a small rural settlement, the project embraces a lifestyle that unfolds across multiple buildings—hosting an architectural practice, accommodating guests, cultivating vegetables, and storing reclaimed materials from historic houses. By engaging in activities that extend well beyond the bounds of a conventional design studio, the initiative seeks to generate new encounters and circulation, ultimately serving as a catalyst for the revitalization of a community facing depopulation.
